I was on the bus, on my way home and the rain was pouring.
I was just looking out the window and listening to sappy music and feeling all sappy in general (it's the weather, I swear!), when suddenly, this scene appeared in my head and I just had to write it down.

"Can't you see, Garrett? A girl like me can't hold on to a guy like you. How," Liss cried, tears running freely down her pale face, "can I? I'm just... this," she sobbed. Garrett's arms encircled tightly her from behind in a flash. "Stop it, Liss," he soothed, his lips whispering kisses in her ear. "Why can't YOU see, Liss? It's clear to everyone but you." She felt herself being turned around in his arms. Garrett braced his hands on her shoulders. Liss kept her eyes trained on the sand between her toes, afraid to look up and see what she fears most in the eyes of the only man she has ever loved. "Look at me, Liss, please," Garrett pleaded softly, "I need your beautiful eyes looking at mine when I say this." Garrett tilted her chin up and Liss had no choice but to look at the warm depths that drew her in from that first moment at the library. She saw no judgment, no regret in them. Only love. "I love you, Liss." Garrett said, his breath whispering across her face. The strength of his statement made Liss' heart skip a beat. The earnestness in his eyes making her feel ashamed for doubting him. "I will only ever love you. When you walk into a room, you are all I see. Hell, even when we're apart my thoughts are of you. I was nothing before you, and there will be nothing after you because this? This is it for me, Liss." He placed a tender kiss upon Liss' lips and rested his forehead on hers, his love seeping through all the bullshit with that one gesture and those three words. "Garrett," she says softly. "Liss, you won't ever have to wonder how a smart, beautiful, and amazingly talented girl like you can keep a reckless idiot like me. Because my heart was yours from the moment you fell into my arms." He said, making her giggle softly. His dimples made an appearance at hearing that glorious sound. Garrett wiped the remaining tears on her cheeks with his thumbs. "I'm yours, Liss. I've always been and I always will be. Tell me you're mine." Liss kissed him with all the strength she had in her, her love for this man pouring out with that one kiss. "Always," she whispered across his lips. Garrett pulled her even closer in the warmth of his arms as he rained down kisses on her eyes, her cheeks, her forehead, her nose, before his lips finally founds their way to hers. |
I have no idea if I'm ever gonna publish anything for real, but for now, you'll have to settle for SNIPPETS here and there of my lame attempts at writing.
